Skaters wishing to audition for the Preliminary team may be 11 years of age as of July 1, 2010 but the majority of the team will be comprised of skater under the age of 10 years old. It is preferred that the skaters pass Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field test by Oct 1, 2010.

- Perimeter stroking: Forward & Backwards, clockwise and counterclockwise
- Forward and Backward crossovers, clockwise and counterclockwise
- Outside and Inside 3-turns, Right and Left
- Outside and Inside Mohawks, Right and Left
- Freeskate Elements: Spirals, bunny hops, forward and backward lunges, waltz jump and 2 foot spin
